I had this constant battle with time: There was never enough. It was moving too fast. It always gave me the hard lessons long after I needed them. And it never followed the course - never stayed according to plans.
Then, somewhere between struggling to accept time's dissipation of Plan A and scrambling for Plan B, then C, then D ... to take its place, I decided to just stop. Right. There. At the moment between Plan X and Y.
And now, I'm learning that the few seconds I take to smile and say hello to the security guard in the morning brings a lightness to my heart that can last throughout the day.
I'm learning that the hour long commute to and from the office is the perfect time to listen to songs that make me cry or dance or just sing out loud.
I'm learning that no matter how fast time flies, it is my choice how I spend each moment of it.
And I'm learning that when plans don't work out, it's because life is full of unexpected surprises. But those surprises, no matter what form - good or bad, always offer the gift of something new.
So, I'm making peace with time. And embracing it.
